Linux Pepsi

Way back when I first installed RedHat 5 Linux Distro, I found GIMP and started playing around with it. This was the result. Free time is great!

Unfortunately I lost the original Pepsi logo that I modified.

Not quite full moon

This shot was taken without a tripod at full zoom.  The image stabiliser on the SX1 is amazing.

Canon PowerShot SX1 - brush turkey

The Canon PowerShot SX1  has to be THE BEST digital camera that runs on AA batteries!  It might be big and chunky but the photos it can take are amazing.  So under this caterogy I will list all the best photos I have taken so far with this whiz-bang-ultra-super camera.

Brush Turkey.

Display the Hibernate button on XP shutdown

This only works for Windows XP SP3.

Open up regedit.exe
Find this key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System

Create a new key.
Rename it to Shutdown

Select the Shutdown key.
Add a new DWORD value.
Rename it to ShowHibernateButton
Modify the value to be 1
and keep the Base as Hexadecimal.

NOTE:  If you cannot find the above key, then create the System key in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows

Harddisks Are Very Shiny.

I was cleaning some junk when I found an old Quantum Fireball 40Gb harddisk.  Since it died I always wanted to open it and look inside.  Finally I got around to it.

It took a while but I finally pried opened all the seals, but I still could not get the plate off.  There was one part near the head controller area where there was a screw with a star head that connected the plate to the main unit.  I did not have a star head screw driver and I could not break whatever it was that held the plate to the main unit.  So all I could do was swivel the plate.

Tea Or Coffee. Maybe Coke As Well.

I have been informed that heavy drinkers of tea or coffee are resistant to Parkinson's Disease.  More prevention than helping existing sufferers.

Apparently it is something to do with caffeine.  I wonder if Coca-Cola helps.  In any case I better only take in moderation.  Too much is also not good for health.

Need more research.
